208. John Shotwell HUNT⁵¹ was born on 11 April 1803 in Harrison Twp., Wayne Co., IN.⁵¹ He died in November 1860 in Marion Co., OR.⁵¹ He was buried in November 1860 in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Marion Co., OR.⁵¹ John was a gunsmith and wagon maker at various places in Indiana and owner of a grist mill and sawmill at Liberty, IN., from where on 5 Mar 1847 he started with his family to Oregon where they arrived in October 1847.

John Shotwell HUNT and Temperence ESTEB were married about 1823 in Wayne Co., IN.⁵¹ Hunt Genealogy has 8 May 1835. Temperence ESTEB was born in 1804.⁵¹ She died in 1850 in Marion Co., OR.⁵¹ She was buried in 1850 in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Marion Co., OR.⁵¹
