She bought her tripod and other equipment before she was married, and continued to take pictures around 50 years. She lived near Miller's Ford on Clinch River and traveled for miles in each direction making pictures of families, weddings, reunions, schools, and other gatherings. Many of the pictures in both Volumes I and II are her handiwork.
