Lou Verna SAVAGE was born on 15 March 1884 in Union Co., TN.571,1033,1034 She died on 3 May 1968 in Union Co., TN.571,1033,1034 She was buried in May 1968 in Shoffner Cemetery, Harrogate, Claiborne Co., TN.1034,1035 Lou Verna SAVAGE and Mack Henry SHOFFNER were married on 20 December 1901 in Union Co., TN.422 Lou and Henry lived in Union Co., TN and later on the Powell River. In 190-06 they moved to Grant's Pass, OR where he worked for the American Gold Field Company. Lou joined him there and on the way she and the oldest son Lunis were in a train wreck which killed many people, but they were unharmed. The RR Company settled with many of the people but Lou would take nothing since they were both safe and just happy to be alive. While out west they also lived for some time in Bakersfield, CA where a son was born. While in Oregon there was a mine cave-in which injured Henry and his brother General was killed. After this, Henry and his family returned to TN about 1910-11 settling first on a lot in Claiborne Co on Indian Creek and later moving to a farm on Forge Ridge where they both lived until there death. Henry was a farmer and operated a small grocery store on Forge Ridge. Lou Verna SAVAGE and Mack Henry SHOFFNER had the following children:
