14. Jacob George SHARP was born in 1775 in Orange Co., NC.⁹ On 6 March 1820 he was an appointed Justice of the Peace in McMinn Co., TN. He died on 16 June 1843 in McMinn Co., TN.^9,24 This couple moved to present McMinn County, settled 6 miles down the Hiwassee River from Calhoun. Jacob served as one of the first magistrates of McMinn County in 1819 and is buried near Devils' Bluff on the Hiwassee River. See page 127, UCHS Pathways, Dec 1989.

Jacob George SHARP and Philopena STINER were married on 8 April 1796 in Orange Co., NC. Bondsman was Wm. Ray. Philopena STINER died in McMinn Co., TN.¹⁵
