20. Barbara TILLMAN was born on 29 October 1778 in Botetourt Co., VA.^10,42 She died on 18 December 1865.^10,42

Barbara TILLMAN and Martin RICE were married on 16 November 1798 in TN.^10,43 Martin RICE⁴⁴ was born on 18 June 1779 in TN.^42,43 He died on 24 October 1849 in Preble Co., OH.^42,43 NOT the poet. Born out of wedlock to Molly, daughter of the first Henry Rice while that family lived in Hawkins County near Church Hill. He opened the farm later known as the Ferrin Hill Farm in the late 1790's. He sold this land to John Gibbs and migrated to Preble Co., Ohio with Old Henry Sharp and others. John Gibbs sold that same land to Conrad Sharp immediately after he had purchased it. On 20 Mar 1809, Martin Rice bought the west half of section 27 (Preble Co., OH) from the Federal Land Office in Cincinnati. It is now in the center of Lewisburg, OH. He built a log house and two roads converged at his home.

Barbara TILLMAN and Martin RICE had the following children:

116	i.	Elizabeth RICE was born about 1801 in TN.
117	ii.	Tilman RICE was born about 1802 in TN.
118	iii.	Nancy RICE was born about 1804 in TN.
