Estella Iva BAKER and Foster Asher HINSHAW were married in 1926 in KS. Foster Asher HINSHAW was born on 13 September 1904 in Mitchell, Rice Co., KS. He died on 28 October 1953 in at sea, near the Bahama Islands. Foster was killed in a helicopter accident while in the military.

He was buried in November 1953 in Susnset Cemetery, Cullison, Pratt Co., KS. Foster's birth parents were George M. Pursley & Alpha May Cherpitel.a His mother, Alpha May, died in 1904, probably at or after Foster's birth.a Evidently Foster was then given up for adoption, and Frank Foster & Minnie Mabel (Smith) Foster then adopted him as Asher Orceneth Foster.b When Minnie Mable (Smith) Foster remarried to Edwin M. Hinshaw he became Foster Asher Hinshaw.a
Foster's birth mother, Alpha May Cherpitel, was the daughter of Disery Cherpitel of Rice Co, Kansas. Disery Cherpitel named Foster Hinshaw as an heir in his will of 1915. Foster's legal guardian in 1915 was Minnie Smith Hinshaw.
