Archibald MCCARVER was born about 1758 in Paxtang, Dauphin Co., PA.²²⁵ He died about 1827 at the age of 69.²²⁵ Pvt. Archibald McCarver - (c.1758-1827) enlisted June 22nd 1776 for a term of two and a half yrs. in Capt. Joseph Phillips Company, 4th. North Carolina Brigade. - Sept. 1777 signed Oath to Virginia pledging his loyalty, and denouncing King George. - Served as defense of the Forts Harrodsburgh , Logan's Fort , Boonesbourgh. - Nov. 6th. 1777 Signed Salt Petition from Kentucky - May 27th. 1778 McCarver falling ill, hired Womack Puckett to serve in his place for three years in the Continental Army of the State. and was discharged by Major John Armstrong of the 4th North Carolina Battalion after serving one year eleven months and five days of his term.
