57. Elizabeth RUTHERFORD was born on 25 July 1750 in Frederick Co., VA.¹²

Elizabeth RUTHERFORD and Samuel GLASS Sr. were married in Frederick Co., VA. Elizabeth and her husband Samuel Glass, lived at Rose Hill, the old family homestead at the head of Opequon Creek in Frederick Co., VA, where his grandparents, Samuel Glass and Mary Gamble, had settled in 1736, after emigrating from Ireland the year before. Samuel Glass purchased 1,600 acres of land for himself and his four sons and two daughters, some of whom had married in Ireland, and all of whom accompanied he and his wife to Virginia. The Opequon Creek Settlement was made up entirely of Presbyterian's.
