Joseph RUTHERFORD¹²⁰ was born circa 1785 in VA.¹²⁰ He died circa 1828 in Cocke Co., TN.¹²⁰ He was buried circa 1828 in Lydia's Bluff Cemetery, Cocke Co., TN.¹²⁰ Joseph and his brother, John, entered a fine tract of land along the Pigeon River, about three miles above Newport, TN, about the year 1806. The estate of their father, Joseph Rutherford, deceased, was surveyed 17 Mar 1807 for the heirs, it being a tract of 456 3/4 acres of land in Cocke County on the Big Pigeon River.
