2015. John Sherman RUTHERFORD Jr. was born on 24 November 1913 in Wann, Nowata Co., OK. He died on 26 July 1974. John grew up around his father's grocery store. He lived awhile at Bartlesville, OK, and then the family moved to Coffeyville, KS. John joined the Air Force during WWII and eventually made the Air Force his career. John serve five and one-half years in conjunction with WWII, and was engaged for one year in the conflict in Korea. He was associated with the Oklahoma Air National Guard Unit for many years. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1951 and was employed by the Air Force.
John was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, no. 1184, in Fort Worth. All members of his family were members of the River Oaks Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
