Lum was buried in August 1912 in Rocky Dale Cemetery, Corryton, TN.⁸² His father gave 300 acres to "Lum" east of Little Flat Creek (west of Corryton Road), and 300 acres to James (brother) east of Corryton Road.
Lum lived at the corner of what is now Corryton Road and Emory Road. He was crippled in some way and a Negro named George Johnson would drive the surrey for him.
