533. Elliot M. LEDGERWOOD was born on 17 June 1829 in Knox Co., TN.^93,211,212 He died before 1900 in Union Co., TN. Elliott was a farmer in Union Co., TN. During the Civil War Elliot was captured by two rebel soldiers. He persuaded them to let him go to his father's home to bid his parents good bye. The two soldiers agreed and the three men rode to the home of Samuel and Sena Ledgerwood. They were hospitably received and Sena provided a good supper for them. They were persuaded to spend the night and for safe keeping Elliot slept in the bed between them. The next morning they found that Elliot had flown, and that Samuel, Sena, and old black Tom were each armed with a gun.
