SNOW CAMP — Mr. W. Talmadge “Hoagie” Shaw, 82, of 6947 Snow Camp Road, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness of three years.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sadie McPherson Shaw, who survives, and the son of Mr. John Madison Shaw and Mrs. Nellie Williams Shaw, both deceased. He was retired from Sears and Roebuck Co. and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Snow Camp.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include five daughters, Mrs. Carole S. Braxton, Mrs. Gail S. Grinstead and Mrs. Betty S. Dean, all of Snow Camp, and Mrs. Patricia S. Lindley and Mrs. Jan S. Murray, both of Graham; a sister, Mrs. Doris Phillippi of Alamance; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Maurine Johnson.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethel United Methodist Church in Snow Camp by the Rev. Randy Blanchard, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
