He served in Co. K, 47th N.C. Regt.during the Civil War Survived by a feeble wife and 8 children — 5 sons & 3 daughters.

He was buried in January 1912 in Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery, Kimesville, Alamance Co., NC. Buried in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Old Chapel Hill Road, between Kime's lake and Highway 22 and Cane Creek Church. Birth and death dates given as 1834-1912 on page 196 of DAR cemetery records of Guilford Co., NC.

Anderson Clapp, born Alamance County, North Carolina; pre-war occupation, farmer; enlisted at Alamance County, February 28, 1862, aged 32, as private, Company K, 47th Regiment North Carolina Troops; transferred to the Confederate States Navy on or about April 3, 1864. [NCT 11, 354.]
