ELON - Mrs. Mabel Clapp Wagoner, 85, of 310 Orange Drive, died 1:15 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center, after one year failing health.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Saint Mark's Reformed Church, with the Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr. , Senior Pastor of Saint Mark's Reformed Church and the Rev. Ben Bishop, Associate Pastor of Saint Mark's Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Saint Mark's Reformed Church Cemetery.
Born in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. Clapp Sr. and the late Myrtle Smith Clapp and the wife of Mr. Walter E. Wagoner, who survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Mark's Reformed Church where she was a member of the Adult Bible class.
Survivors are husband, Mr. Walter E. Wagoner of the home; daughter, Mrs. Treva W. Croker of Wallace; son, Dr. Denny E. Wagoner of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Ellis (Annie) Allen of Mebane, Mrs. Elvin (Clara) Chriscoe and Mrs. John (Lucy) Wagoner, both of Burlington, Mrs. Bobby (Agnes) Fogleman of Alamance, Mrs. P.L. (Sue) Clubb of Burlington; brothers, Mr. Kestle Clapp of Elon and Mr. Floyd E. Clapp Jr. of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Luke Clapp, Ferry Clapp, Raymond Clapp, and Buddy D. Clapp.

Mabel B. CLAPP and Walter E. WAGONER were married. Walter E. WAGONER, son of James Franklin Vasteen WAGGONER and Maude Emma FOSTER, was born in 1914 in NC.²⁰⁴³
