MEBANE — Final rites for Curry Andrew Clapp, 65, of 611 North Ninth Street will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at Mebane Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Mr. Clapp died Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock in a Burlington hospital after one day of critical illness.
Rev. William DeWeese, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Sam Cappell, pastor of Mebane Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The body will remain at Walker's Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Clapp was a native of Guilford County, the son of the late Alonzo and Emma May Clapp. He was a retired employe of White Furniture Company and a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie Rice Clapp; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Duckworth of Mebane; one stepson, Raymond King of Mebane; one brother, Dwight Clapp of Burlington and six grandchildren. Currie was buried on 6 January 1960 in Mebane City Cemetery, Mebane, Alamance Co., NC. Pvt. Co. I 3 Infantry Nc Ng - World War I
