2911. Levi CLAPP¹⁵⁸⁴ was born on 21 May 1827 in Oakland Twp., Coles Co., IL.¹⁵⁸⁴ He died on 18 May 1875 at the age of 47 in Coles Co., IL.⁶⁷⁸ Aged 47 yrs 11 mo and 27 days. He was buried in May 1875 in Shields Cemetery, East Oakland Twp., Coles Co., IL.⁶⁷⁸ He rode a horse to California in the gold rush year (1849?). He stayed there three years, then rode the same horse back. While he was out there, he took a passenger boat up to Alaska to look for gold. He never found any.
