Baptized 12 Aug 1804 in the Brick Church. Buried in South Whitley, IN. Had 11 children. He was said to have owned one of the first threshing machines in Whitley Co., IN sometime prior to 1848. He also ran one of the first water sawmills in Richland Township, Whitley Co., IN. In 1873 David and a Milton Grimes built a sawmill a mile southeast of South Whitley, IN.
