10544. Rev. Rosser Lee CLAPP was born on 13 October 1930 in Guilford Co., NC. He died on 17 September 2011 at the age of 80 in Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC. Rev. Rosser Lee Clapp September 19, 2011 Rev. Rosser Lee Clapp, 80, died peacefully at Moses Cone Hospital on September 17, 2011 after a short illness. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church, Highway 61, Gibsonville. Services will be conducted by Rev. Allen Myers, Rev. Mark Andes and Rev. Emmett Floyd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence. Born in Guilford County, he was a graduate of Elon College and Duke University Divinity School. He was called into the ministry at the age of 11 and served numerous churches throughout North Carolina and Virginia for the United Church of Christ. He was the son of Chalmer R. Clapp, Sr. and Leola Cook Clapp, both deceased. He is preceded in death by his brother, Chalmers R. “Junior” Clapp. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Doris Adams Clapp of the home; two sons, Christopher Lee Clapp and wife Vicky of Danbury and David Anthony Clapp and wife Cynthia Lynne of Saxapahaw; a sister, Marilyn Loye of Guilford County; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Rosser will be remembered for his great faith in God, his love of life, people, family and kindness towards others. He was loved by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to your local Hospice Home. He was buried on 21 September 2011 in Apple's Chapel Cemetery, Guilford CO., NC.
