Jack Patterson Clapp, Sr., 63, of 6219 Nat Road, Julian died at Moses Cone Hospital on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 12:15 a.m.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Linda Fogleman Clapp, who survives and the son of Vance Lee Clapp and Willie Frances Gerringer Clapp, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and part owner of V. L. Clapp & Sons Septic Systems. Mr. Clapp was a member of Low’s Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, Linda of the home, survivors include two sons, Jackie Clapp, Jr. and Ron Clapp and wife Teresa, all of Julian; three grandchildren, Dustin Clapp of Burlington and Brittany Clapp and Mitchell Clapp, both of Julian; one step-grandson, Sean Price of Julian; five brothers, Wayne Gerringer and wife Ann, Don Clapp, Butch Clapp, Billy Clapp and wife Norma and Johnny Clapp and wife Sylvia; five sisters, Linda Miller and husband Lance, Carolyn Wimbish and husband Glenn, Vangie Clapp, Bobbie Euliss and husband Roger and Fran Cook and husband Doug; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at Low’s Lutheran Church Cemetery on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.
Following the service, the family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall. Other times they will be at the residence of Ron Clapp, 6219 Nat Road, Julian, NC.
