13616. Glen Gordon CLAPP was born on 25 July 1927 in Shelby Co., IN. He appeared in the census in 1930 in Adams Twp., Decatur Co., IN. Glen, son, M, W, 2 9/12, S, IN, TN, TN, TN He died on 22 October 2013 at the age of 86 at Hickory Creek Healthcare in Greensburg, Decatur Co., IN. Glen G. Clapp, 86, of St. Paul, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Hickory Creek Healthcare at Greensburg.
He was born July 25, 1927, to Gordon Clapp and Elsie (Feezell) Clapp in Shelby County. He married Florence (Tucker) Clapp Nov. 14, 1948, and she survives in St. Paul.
Other survivors include daughters, Peggy Fagel and Charlene (husband, David) Case, both of St. Paul; daughter-in-law, Holly Clapp of Pennsylvania; sister, Ruth Ryle of Greensburg; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Clapp and Tom Clapp; two sisters, Alma Powell and Dorothy Buchanan; son, Larry Clapp; and great-grandson, Gage.
Mr. Clapp was a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1945. Glen was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was branch manager of the State Bank of Waldron, St. Paul Branch, for 26 years. After leaving the bank, Glen served as clerk-treasurer for the town of St. Paul and later worked for the municipal water company.
He was a member of Wesleyan Chapel Church, charter member of the St. Paul Kiwanis Club and past master of the Waldron Masonic Lodge.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, IN 47272. Masonic rites will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at the funeral home with Adrian Scripture officiating.
Burial will be at Paul Hill Cemetery in St. Paul. Graveside military rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of the funeral home.
Glen was buried on 26 October 2013 in Paul Hill Cemetery, St. Paul, IN.
