WHITSETT NEWS G.G. Clapp of Greensboro spent some time here yesterday completing plans for the annual reunion of the Clapp families which is to be held at Brick church on Wednesday, September 4th. It is hoped at the gathering this year to have present practically all the descendents throughout Guilford and Alamance counties of the two brothers, George Valentine Clapp and John Ludwig Clapp, who came over on the ship “James Goodwill” landing at Philadelphia Sept. 27, 1727 where they remained until 1745 when both came to North Carolina settling in eastern Guilford. They were among the founders of Brick church. The reunion exercises this year are expected t be of unusual interest and importance. Edgar R. Clapp of Winston-Salem will be in charge of the music for this year. Several able speakers will be on the programme. All kindred and friends will be welcomed t the occasion.

Mattie WHITE was born on 12 April 1874. She died on 8 September 1946 at the age of 72 in NC. Buried in Greenhill Cemetery.
