John George "Muck George" CLAPP was born on 17 January 1783 in Orange Co., NC.46 He signed a will on 2 January 1852 in Guilford Co., NC. I George Clapp of the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina being of sound mind and disposing memory do make and ordain the following to be my last will and testament In the first place I allow and direct all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid out of my estate In the second place I give and bequeath all my estate both real & personal to my beloved wife Elizabeth for and during the term of her natural life - In the third place, after the death of my wife, I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly Clapp wife of Jerry Clapp the Kitchen Cupboard and all the furniture and one bed, bed stand and bed clothing to her and her heirs forever after the death of my wife In the fourth place I give and bequeath to my friend David C Stewart the track of land on which I now live after the death of my wife, my Corner Cupboard and all its furniture, one falling leaf table 1 bureau, 1 clock, three beds, bed stands and the necessary Clothing, one large Copper Kettle, all the cooking utensils in the Kitchen, and one loom, to have and to hold unto the Said David C Stewart and his heirs for ever even in trust for the use and benefit of my daughter Riley Coble wife of K. M. Coble during the term of her natural life free and discharged from the contracts debts liabilities or Contracts of her said husband and future trust and Confidence that he be the said D. C. Stewart or his heirs at her death of my said daughter shall carry the said tract of land personal property to the children of my daughter Riley who I allow to have said property after the death of their mother And lastly After the death of my wife I allow all the residue of my property to be sold at public sale to the highest bidder and one half of the proceeds of sale I give to my daughter Polly Clapp and her heirs forever And the other half I give and bequeath to the aforesaid David C Stewart to be held by him when the same trust for the benefit of my daughter Riley and to be disposed of in the same manner as the land other personal property is disposed of in a preceding clause of this will I hereby Constitute and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth Clapp sole executor to this my last will and testament to execute and carry out the purpose and bequests then as above ? & agreeable to law.
