536. John Holt CLAPP⁴⁵⁷ was born on 11 April 1811 in NC. He was baptized on 7 February 1813 in Brick Church, Guilford Co., NC. In 1860 he was an a hotel keeper in Graham Twp., Alamance Co., NC. "John H. Clapp married Elizabeth Anne, daughter of John McMurray, of the Rock Creek section, in 1832. In 1835 he bought of George Denny a farm just east of the David Wharton home place and located there. Their children were Cora, William, Charles, Madison, Daniel, Mary Jane, Kate Emma, and Frank. In 1841 he sold this farm to John F. Donnell and moved to Greensboro."
