2637. John H. TROXLER was born on 28 May 1838 in NC.^613,1117 He served in the military on 4 April 1862 in NC.¹⁴⁷⁰ John served under Capt. John L. Scales during the Civil War in the 45th Regiment, Co. D. He was mustered into duty at Camp Mangum, Raleigh, NC on 4 April 1862. he was wounded and captured 23 Sep 1864 at Fisher's Hill. John entered the hospital at Baltimore, MD. with a gunshot wound with a ball passed through the upper third of left leg flesh. he was then transferred to Point Lookout, MD. 2 Jan 1865. his height is recorded as 5' 6". He died on 1 July 1907 at the age of 69.⁶¹³ Buried at the Flat Rock Methodist Church Cemetery.
