Sally Morene Clapp, 90, of 791 Boone Station Drive, Burlington died at Liberty Commons on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 6:15 a.m. following four years of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was a homemaker and the wife of the late John William Clapp, and the daughter of Abner Benjamin Morene and Laura Shepherd Morene, both deceased. She was of the Baptist faith and attended church services at Liberty Commons.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois C. Bowman and husband Dan, Betty C. Harrison and husband “Buzz”, all of Gibsonville, and Kathy C. Justice and husband Tim of Hillsborough; three grandchildren, Scott Harrison and wife Heather of McLeansville, Ashley Sprissler and husband Nick of Raleigh, and Brad Justice of Hillsborough; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys Andrews, Sylvia Greer, Leo Hughes and Cleo Culberson; and two brothers, Harper Morene and Wallace Morene.
A graveside service will be conducted at Gibsonville City Cemetery on Monday, October 18, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Larry Hughes.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of Lois and Dan Bowman, 1313 Dogwood Drive, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
