George Washington Clapp, 56, of Burlington, Route 5, died this morning at 10:45 at his home, after an illness of about seven months.
He was the husband of Mrs. Mamie Rigsbie Clapp, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Greeson Clapp, of Guilford county. Funeral services have not been announced, but the body will remain at Rich and Thompson mortuary until final plans are made.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Vergan Clapp, of the home; three sons, Harvey, Lawrence and Clarence Clapp; three sisters, Mrs. L. L. Bowman (CALLIE CLAPP) of Kimesville, and Miss Verle and Thelma Clapp of Graham; four brothers, C. P. Clapp of Graham, Luther, Lawrence and J. L. Clapp, all of Kimesville; two grandchildren.
