Mrs. Joy “Polly” Baker Clapp, 80, of 220 Jones Court, Graham died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 1:20 p.m. following four months declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Sirreno “Jimmy” Clapp, who survives and the daughter of Robert Bunion Baker and Lillie Hill Baker, both deceased. She was retired from Kayser Roth. Polly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Haw River and the Haw River Historical Museum.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two daughters, Debbie Allison and husband Richard of Texas and Ginger Silby and husband Kevin of Burlington; one sister, Ruby Bayliff of Lexington; four grandchildren, Michael Owenby, Chris Owenby, Lynn Doby and Trevor Silby; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, Mozelle McPherson, Louise Mullis, Pauline Ray, Gladys Everhart, Inez Hackney and Elizabeth Baker and three brothers, Clarence Baker, Dorthan Baker and Junior Baker.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Walter Jones. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.

She was buried on 7 November 2010 in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance Co., NC.
