1694. Tempey Mariah CLAPP was born on 16 October 1829 in Orange Co., NC. She died on 17 October 1910 at the age of 81 in Grandview Twp., Edgar Co., IL. Information on Tempa and family furnished by Alice Cook. Tempa died at the home of her daughter, Mary K. Stoneburner, and is buried on the Kime Family Plot of Grandview Cemetery.

Douglas BARRETT Other M S W 20 IL Occ: Farm Laborer Fa: OH Mo: OH David Rudy KIME, son of Christian KIME and Sara CLAPP, was born on 14 January 1824 in Randolph Co., NC.¹⁰⁸⁷ He died on 11 March 1909 at the age of 85 in Grandview Twp., Edgar Co., IL. I have seen a death date of about 1885 in Edgar Co., IL. Need to check. Came to Edgar Co., IL from Randolph Co., NC in 1845 with a wagon train. Alice Cook wrote, "He spent some time looking for the most suitable site for a home. The area to the north, now prosperous prairie farmland, was then swampy and wild. Buffalo grass grew higher than his horse, mosquitoes swarmed like clouds, deer darted in and out among the clumps of grass. Knowing that the drinking water from this area would not be good, he decided to settle on the rolling country of Big Creek, in what is now Grandview Township. It was here that he operated a large mill... David Rudy and Tempa Kime were members of the Presbyterian Church of Grandview. At his death he owned 586 acres of land in Edgar and Clark Counties." He is buried on the Kime Family Plot of the Grandview Cemetery.
