William Latimer CLAPP was born on 30 March 1841 in Scipio, Jennings Co., IN.517,518 He served in the military Private in Company I, 8th Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Cavalry, Union Army in 1863–15 August 1865 in Civil War. He died due to paralysis and had heart trouble for some time on 25 March 1928 at the age of 86 in Fairfield, Jefferson Co., IA.518 William was buried on 28 March 1928 in Chariton Cemetery, Fairfield, IA. Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, J. I. Dool at the First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday at 10 O'Clock. Buried by the side of his wife. He came to Iowa with his parents in early childhood.
