He died on 29 April 1943 at the age of 66 in Knoxville, Knox Co., TN. Maynardsville postmaster and County Clerk of Union Co., ordained Baptist minister, and a member of the bar. Handed down his fiddle to his son Roy. It was hand-carved in 1907 by Al Cassidy. See "Your Union Co. Heritage, Volume 2, page 9.
