He was placed in the hospital at Corinth, MS, returned to service, later to be discharged at 39 years of age.
George died on 11 March 1911 at the age of 81 in Blountville, Sullivan Co., TN.⁵⁴⁴ He was born in March 1911 in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Blountville., TN.⁵⁴⁴
