Calvin McHenry GRAVES was born on 7 August 1844 in Marion, Crittenden Co., KY.1273 In 1880 he was an a brick maker in Fremont City, Fremont Co., IA.2211 He was living in 1931 in Blaine, Whatcom Co., WA.2212 Calvin died on 7 June 1932 at the age of 87 in Winthrop, Okanogan Co., WA.2213 He was buried in June 1932 in Sullivan Cemetery, Winthrop, WA. At the age of 8 years he moved to Iowa. When 18 years old he enlisted in the Indian war, Aug 13, 1862, at Glenwood, Iowa, Silver Creek Township, Mills, County. Was in Co. B. 29th Infantry. Report of Colonel H.C. Hunt, Council Bluffs, to Governor Kirkwood about Indian trouble verifies the fact that the organization was in service in Sioux City, Iowa. He moved to Nebraska for a short time. In 1898 he moved to Bickleton, Washington, where he Homesteaded for farming of dry wheat. In 1890 he became a minister of the Methodist Church. His trades were carpenter, brick mason, farmer and minister. He married Jan 17, 1866 to Milissa Jane Shaffer, born Jan 17, 1850, she died June 27, 1915.
