CLAPP, FRANCES ACUFF - age 90, of Corryton, passed away 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at her home. She was a member of Little Flat Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Beryle F. Clapp; brothers, Bill, Herbert, and Leonard Acuff; and sister, Grace LeMarr. She retired from Standard Knitting Mill after 37 years of service, and also retired from Clapp Upholstery after 20 years of service.Survivors: daughters, Alice Thomas and husband, Jim of Corryton, and Nancy C.Spencer of Whitesburg, Tennessee; grandchildren, Carl Rose and wife Rebecca,and DeAnna Snyder all of Whitesburg, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, James Snyder, Terry Rose, and Karla Rose; sister-in-law, Mabel Acuff of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Joyce Huddleston; and special friends, Almeda Dickenson and Charlie Christopher. In lieu of flowers,memorial contributions may be given to Little Flat Creek Cemetery Fund, 9132 East Emory Road, Box 181, Corryton, TN 37721. A funeral service will be held 3:00p.m. Saturday at Little Flat Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Baltimore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: CarlRose, Jamey Snyder, Terry Rose, Richie Stevens, Mike Thomas, and Gary Acuff.The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Little Flat Creek Baptist Church.
