Emery J. Hanks, 83, a lifelong resident of Ozark, died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday in the Missouri State Sanatorium at Mt. Vernon, He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Trevo Handy, Highlandville and Mrs. Corene Young, Ozark; three step-sons, Ward Bain, Baxter Springs, Kan.; John Bain, Ozark and Frank Bain, Chicago; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mable Ecklund, Swartz Creek, Mich. and Mrs. Evelyn Weeks, state of California; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Harris Chapel with the Rev. Howard Blevins and the Rev. V. L.. Stanley officiating. Burial was in Selmore Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lenna Hanks, 72, of Route 1, Ozark who died Friday, Sept 14, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, where she had been a patient seven weeks, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Harris Chapel at Ozark with the Rev. Ivan Coyle and the Rev. Omer Ruark officiating. Burial was in Ozark Cemetery under direction of Harris. She was a resident of the Ozark community most of her life and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Emery J. Hanks; four sons, C. E. Bain of Webster Groves, Ward Bain of Baxter Springs, Kan., John Bain of Ozark and Frank Bain of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Ecklund and Mrs. Dorothy Burgess of Swartz Creek, Mich.; and Mrs. Evelyn Weeks of Hinsdale, Ill.; eight grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. Trevo Handy of Bremerton, Wash, and Mrs. Corene Young of Ozark; two step-grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
