Pearl Graves Smith was born at Rock Bluff, Nebraska in June 1876 and died April 1, 1909 at her home at Bluelight, Washington. Deceased was the wife of Charles Smith. Pearl was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Graves who resided in the county many years. Her illness began about 7 years ago at which time her health was impaired by what proved to be consumption and the past year she was unable to attend to any of the houshold work. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and two children, a daughter of seven years old and a son one year old. Also parents, two brothers, John and Mark and two sisters, Evangeline and LuLu Graves. She was a most kind and noble lady, with always a smile for everyone and had been a faithful member of the United Brethren Church since 1895. The funeral services were held at her home conducted by Rev. Ragon of Bickleton.(this obit was found in the Cass County Museum, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, in scrapbook #1, Gold colored, pg 81.)
