One dead after car accident in west El Paso

EL PASO, Texas - A man is dead after an early morning accident in west El Paso. According to the El Paso Police Department they were called to the scene at 12:25 a.m. Saturday at the 7300 block of North Mesa Street and Belvidere Street.
The Special Traffic Investigations Unit determined that the driver Ryan Christopher Hauk, 31, lost control of his red 2012 Dodge pickup truck. He then struck a rock wall and hit an electric pole and died at the scene.
The driver had no passenger with him and no other vehicles were involved. The Special Traffic Investigations Unit believes that speed and alcohol are contributing factors in this accident. The investigation continues.

Ryan C. Hauk, 31, of El Paso, TX, former resident of Shelbyville, IN, passed away Saturday, Jan 4, 2014. He was born Dec 19, 1982, to Darlene Clapp-Sigman.
He left behind three beautiful young children, daughter, Jaylie Michelle; sons, Ryan Graham and Royce Gunner; and sisters, Trisha Rafferty-Causey and Veyona Hauk-Shepherd.
Ryan served in the U. S. Army with multiple tours in Iraq. he was a recipient of multiple Purple Hearts along with many other service awards.
Ryan was a dedicated soldier and loving father, a true American hero and a true family man. He loved spending time with his children, He had a style of his own, loved to play pool, ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, jump off cliffs at White Rock and go to the Gym. He enjoyed boxing and had recently begun coaching. He truly lived each day as if it were his last. Ryan's charismatic charm and bright smile will be missed by so many.
Memorial services with military honors will be at 3 P.M. Saturday, Jan 18, 2014, at American Legion Post #70, 1125 Miller Ave. in Shelbyville.
A celebration of life and pitch-in dinner will follow the service.
