Margaret MAY was born on 28 March 1762 in Burlington, Alamance Co., NC.105,106 She died on 22 July 1841 at the age of 79 in Alamance Co., NC.105,106 She was buried in July 1841 in Stoner's Church Cemetery, Alamance Co., NC.107 Buried in Stoner's Church Cemetery. Margaret MAY and John EFLAND Sr. were married on 2 May 1784 in NC. Genevieve Peters copied material purported to be taken from the James Boon Bible. There is a list of children. All may be of John and Margaret, but there is the possibility that some of them are the children of John's brother David. "Know Your Relatives..." by Genevieve Peters, CR1972, pages 129-132. John EFLAND Sr.106, son of Peter EFLAND and Catherine (?), was born on 16 February 1762 in Orange Co., NC.105,106 He died on 22 October 1844 at the age of 82 in Alamance Co., NC.105,106 Eveland website has 22 Oct 1824. See Notes. He was buried in October 1844 in Stoner's Church Cemetery, Alamance Co., NC. On 1 Sep 1832, John Eveland (Efland, Ephland) applied for pension for his services in Am. Rev. War. (# S-6814 N.C.) App. states he served 3 months in 1779 in Company of Capt. O'Neal and Lt. James Trousdale as part of Gen. Tillington's Brigade. Pension of $40 a year was granted. See P.256 ACB book. Also see page 450 of "Roster of NC Soldiers in the American Revolution". Buried in Stoner's Church Cemetery. Funeral conducted by George W. Welker. Birth and death dates from page 12, Sept. 1984 issue of the Alamance Genealogist. Died age 82 years, 8 months and seven days. May 31, 1833 --- Further affadavit of John Efland that his written discharge papers he had not seen since the British and Tories plundered the house of his brother-in-law Boston Graves, which was the declarent's home in Orange County a short time before the battle of Guilford in 1781.
