3403. Barton Stone CLAPP Jr.¹⁸⁰¹ was born about 1845 in Cottonville, Marshall Co., AL.⁷⁹⁶ He died in 1910 at the age of 65 in Mead, Bryan Co., OK.⁷⁹⁶ Served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Enetered as a private and was discharged as a private. Served in Capt. L. Ward's Battery, Alabama Light Artillery. When Barton Stone came home evidently the family fortune was gone. He married Hackney and moved to AR. By 1900 he was in Indian Territory and marrying a Native American women named Porter. The men of the family were itinerant laborers for the next couple of generations.
