Mrs. Roberta Clapp Long Thompson
GRAHAM - Mrs. Roberta Clapp Long Thompson, 89, of 1208 South Main St., died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at the Hospice Home of Burlington.
She was the wife of the late Winfred Bradley Long and Marvin Maurice Thompson, and the daughter of the late Mr. Daniel Monroe Clapp and Mrs. Mary Bell Barbee Clapp. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church for 72 years, a member of the Evie C. Marshall Sunday school class, and in past years, she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Women of the Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Selma Diane Long Bullis and husband, Robert Allen, and Anna Blair Long Rudd and husband, Robert Bernard, all of Graham; five grandchildren, Allen Bradley Bullis and wife, Sharron, of Kernersville, Joseph Byron Bullis and wife, Jill, of Graham, Sabrina Barts Owen and husband, George Edward Jr., of Harrisburg, N.C., Derek Lee Barts and wife, Karen, of High Point and April H. Lombardi and husband, Antonio, of Oak Ridge, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Alexander Bullis and Robert Bricen Bullis, both of Graham, Edward Carter Owen of Harrisburg, N.C., and Evan Reid Barts of High Point; and a sister, Mary L. Boggs of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel C. Keck, Vivian C. Ray and Vida C. Brannock; and three brothers, Bun Clapp, Benjamin Clapp and Daniel Clapp.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Norman M. Whitney Sr. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1500 S. Main St., Graham, N.C. 27253 or to the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215. Bertice was buried on 17 June 2007 in Graham Memorial Park, Graham, NC.
