Samuel PHIPPS and Mary "Polly" ROMAL were married on 21 April 1814 in Guilford Co., NC.³⁷⁹ Samuel and Polly lived on Alamance Creek in Guilford Co., NC. Mary "Polly" ROMAL was born on 23 December 1797 in NC.^379,381 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Clay Twp., Guilford Co., NC.³⁸¹ Living with son, S. W. Phipps, in 1880;
Polly PHIPPS Mother F W W 84 NC Fa: IRE Mo: GER She died on 14 September 1883 at the age of 85 in Guilford Co., NC.³⁷⁹ Polly was buried in September 1883 in Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Guilford Co., NC.³⁸⁰ Polly died in the home of her daughter Susanne Donnell.
