A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Ruth Troxler Beckom and the son of Mr. Ernest Tingen Beckom, and Mrs. Bertha Ross Beckom. He was retired from Copland Fabrics and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ruth Beckom Durham of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Frances Jean Beckom Kellam of Burlington; and two brothers, Mr. Benjamin Beckom and Mr. Curtis Beckom, both of Burlington. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles Litzenberger, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the church following the service, and at other times at the home of a brother, Mr. Benjamin Beckom, 1618 Gerringer Mill Road, Burlington. Lowe Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements. He was buried on 19 December 2000 in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Graham, Alamance Co., NC. William Ross BECKOM and Ruth Christine TROXLER were married on 1 August 1953.164 Ruth Christine TROXLER, daughter of Lonnie Theodore TROXLER and Hermie WAYNICK, was born on 2 June 1926.164 She died before 17 December 2000 at the age of 74.164 |
