James HUNT⁵³ was born on 19 January 1768 in NC.⁵³ He signed a will on 19 April 1838 in LaPorte Co., IN.⁵³ He died on 1 September 1838 in LaPorte Co., IN.⁵³ James was buried in 1838 in Baptist Cemetery, Wills Twp., LaPorte Co., IN.⁵³ James went from NC to Clermont Co., OH then in 1807 moved to Wayne Co., IN, where he lived until 1835 when he removed with his brothers Col. George Hunt and William H. Hunt to LaPorte Co., IN, where he lived the few years left in his life.

James HUNT and Nancy Anne SHOTWELL were married on 6 July 1804.⁵³ They had 11 children. Nancy Anne SHOTWELL was born on 15 February 1788.⁵³ She died on 14 September 1839 in LaPorte Co., IN.⁵³ She was buried in September 1839 in Baptist Cemetery, Wills Twp., LaPorte Co., IN.⁵³
