John Mason HUNT¹⁰¹ was born on 15 January 1826 in IN.^101,103 He died on 8 February 1906 in Oakland, Douglas Co., OR.¹⁰¹ In 1900 (dated July 17) he wrote in long hand a journal reciting some of the history of his grandparents and some of their children and the experiences of his own family in trying to establish a home in Iowa, Kansas, and Arkansas, a condensation of which can be found in Beverly Yount's 1956 Manuscript.
