F. Stevens. They saved their money and went to Alaska in the 1898 Gold Rush. He staked several claims near Dawson City, Eureka Creek, Alaska, and up the Yukon River. He would have been in the Chilroot Pass slide that killed so many people if he hadn't forgotten his extra clothing and gone back for them. He helped dig out the victims. he caught pneumonia which later developed into tuberculosis, and he died in 1904 without reaping very much money from his claims.
