Harriet SHARP Dau F S W 32 TN Occ: At Home Fa: TN Mo: TN He died in 1884 in Jefferson Co., TN.33 Jacob was buried in 1884 in Friend's Station Cemetery, Jefferson Co., TN.84 Jacob Sharp built the brick house where B.C. Ousley now lives about 1840-45. He was a prosperous merchant, farmer, and trader in livestock. He organized and preached to a Methodist congregation in his home and fostered a Masonic Lodge there. He lost his fortune before or during the Civil War, removed to Jefferson County, died and is buried at Friends Station. Jacob's second wife, Rachel Lyle was the widow of a man names Gass and a man named Wyatt. There were children of this second marriage according to W.H. Thomas. See page 17, UCHS Pathways, March 1990. A picture of the large brick mansion built by Jacob Sharp is on the back of UCHS Pathways, Vol. 17, March 1998. The house is mentioned by poet Martin Rice and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

They moved from Union Co. to Jefferson Co. sometime between 1850 and 1860. Names and birth dates were obtained from the family bible owned by Ola Dyer Wilson (now deceased) of Speedwell, TN.Rebecca HEATH was born on 1 July 1806 in VA. She died on 25 January 1858 in New Market, Jefferson Co., TN.79 She was buried in January 1858 in Old Methodist Church Cemetery, New Market, Jefferson Co., TN. Rebecca was a sister to Nancy, wife of Isaac Sharp (Jacob's brother).
