Mynatt was paid $8.50 for holding an inquest on the body of WIlliam Troutt, Sr. If further showed that Henry Chiles made a coffing for WIlliam. It is possible he is buried in the Troutt Family Cemetery as he has a daughter buried there. He went with his father and family to TN. He appears as a witness to his sister's marriage on 21 May 1799 in Botetourt Co., VA. After his father, Jacob, died, William inherited the sixty-four and one half acres that his father had bought in 1801, from William Bohannon. Although Barbara was paying the taxes on the land in 1804, by 1806, William was paying the taxes on the property. Moreover, he sold the land to his brother, George, in 1826. William was a large landholder on both Roseberry and Big Flat Creeks. At one time he owned as much as 500 acres. By 1860, William was living with his daughter, Mary Troutt Devault, and was getting quite old. He sold his last land holdings, consisting of 351 1/2 acres, to Samuel G.
