108. Reuben SMITH was born on 1 May 1792 in Boone Co., KY.³⁵ He died on 25 February 1847 at the age of 54 in Owen Co., KY.³⁵ He was buried in February 1847 in Old Claxon's Graveyard, Owen Co., KY.³⁵ Reuben Smith bought his first land in Scott County in 1821. Seven years after his father, Joseph's death. He bought out the heirs of Joseph out of their inheritance. They were: John, Moses, Lewis, Isaac, Sally Ann, Thomas, Lucy and Priscella.This was 8 years after his marriage to Mary. When he left the Long Lick Church in 1827, (where he was converted) he and his family moved to Owen County, Kentucky. He purchased 100 acres of land in 1827 on Claxon Ridge. He bought another 130 acres in 1829. In 1832 he bought another 100 acres next to Celestine Claxon. He only lived 20 years after moving to Owen County. At the time of his death, February 25, 1847, he owned 254 acres on Claxon Ridge. Mary "Polly" (?) and Reuben SMITH were married on 3 October 1813 in Scott Co., KY.
