Deed from Peter Williams to Edward Mourning This indenture made this 28th day of December in the year 1848 between Peter Williams and Susana his wife of the one part and Edward Mourning of the other part all of the County of Fleming and State of Kentucky Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of forty eight dollars in hand paid by said Mourning. Bargains sells aliens and confirms, and by these presents doth bargain, sell and convey unto the said Mourning all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of Fleming and State of Kentucky on the South Lick Branch of Locust Creek being all that tract of land assigned by a decree of the Fleming Circuit Court as the dower of Rebecca (late Scott) Watson, as the widow of John Scott deceased being as set out in said division twenty one and one fourth acres and for a special description of said land and I said Peter Williams having purchased of Rebecca Watson and John Watson said dower interest do now sell and convey the same lot for and during the natural life of said Rebecca Watson, widow as aforesaid of John Scott deceased all of said dower. To have and to hold the said land together with all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining and I said Williams do by these presents unto the said Mourning his heirs and assigns forever warrant said land against the claims or claims of all persons claiming under by or through said Williams and against the claim of said Rebecca Watson and those claiming under her and none other. SEAL: Peter Williams In 1850 he was an a farmer in Fleming Co., KY.2 In 1860 Peter was an a stonemason in Elizaville, Fleming Co., KY.1 He died on 29 August 1883 in Fleming Co., KY. (?) was born on 25 December 1812 in District of Columbia, MD.1,2 She appeared in the census in 1880 in Mount Carmel, Fleming Co., KY.3 Living with her daughter, Lucy and son in law Sanford Palmer in 1880; She died on 19 March 1895 in Fleming Co., KY.
