Sarah RUTHERFORD and Daniel "David" CLAPP⁶⁵ were married on 25 March 1817 in Knox Co., TN.^44,65,66,67 Name in record book is David Clapp, but this is Daniel. Descendants of this couple include Roy Acuff, Country and Western entertainer and a star of the Grand Ole Opry; Millard F. Caldwell, Jr., Governor of Florida, 1945-1949, then a Justice of the Florida Supreme Court from 1962 to 1969. Daniel and Sarah had seven children. Daniel "David" CLAPP⁶⁵ was born in 1795 in Knox Co., TN.⁶⁵ He died on 5 June 1856 in Knox Co., TN.⁶⁵ Vance has the death date ca 1840 in Knox Co., TN. Death date from Calvin Clapp Bible. Vance has the wrong date in the ACB book on page 261.
